Focused, Faithful, and Climbing Higher: 7 Power Moves for Christian Career Women

May 19, 2025 by Ellie Nieves

Let’s be honest—navigating your career while staying grounded in your faith is no small feat. You’re making moves, managing meetings, tackling projects, and trying to make sense of your calling, all while aiming to live out your purpose with integrity. But when God calls you to lead, He equips you for the journey. These seven power moves will help you show up with strength, stand firm in your values, and thrive in every area of life and your career.

1. Cast the Vision

Proverbs 29:18 reminds us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” If you’re not clear about who you’re becoming and where you’re going, it’s easy to drift. Write down the vision God’s placed in your heart. Are your daily habits supporting that vision—or sabotaging it?

2. Check Your Circle

You can’t soar to new heights if you’re grounded by the wrong crowd. The people around you should inspire you, challenge you, and remind you of your God-given identity. Proverbs 13:20 says, “Walk with the wise and become wise.” Choose people who bring out your best.

3. Count the Cost of Leadership

Leadership is a blessing, but it also comes with responsibility. It may mean making tough decisions, facing criticism, or stepping out of your comfort zone. Luke 14:28 encourages us to count the cost—are you prepared for the sacrifices that come with influence?

4. Walk in Integrity

Your leadership is only as strong as your character. In a world full of shortcuts, standing firm in your convictions matters. Integrity isn’t just about doing the right thing when no one’s watching—it’s about doing the right thing because it honors God.

5. Set the Standard, Then Live It

People are watching—especially those you lead. You can’t ask for excellence if you’re not modeling it yourself. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Set the pace. Live the standard.

6. Multiply Your Impact

True leaders don’t just rise—they raise others up. Whether you’re mentoring someone at work or encouraging a sister in Christ, leadership is about legacy. 2 Timothy 2:2 reminds us to pass on what we’ve learned. Who are you helping grow?

7. Make Relationships a Priority

You weren’t meant to climb alone. No title, project, or goal is worth sacrificing your relationships. Be present with your people. Love well. Pray often. Lead with courage, stay grounded in prayer, and never forget that connection fuels your calling.

Conclusion

Leadership isn’t about striving—it’s about stewarding the gifts God has given you. Keep showing up, stay focused on your purpose, and trust that He’s guiding your every step. You’re not just climbing higher—you’re rising with faith, fire, and favor.
